David McLean  has had a passion for car audio since the time he became old enough to drive. That’s over 20 years ago, and it has never faded. David started competing as a charter member of dB Drag Racing in 1998. He built a 1986 Chevy Suburban specifically for SPL competition, calling it “Quadzilla”. In 1999,  “Quadzilla” competed in 75 events which included many first places, several Florida state titles, and placing in the top 5 in two World Finals. In 2001 David retired from SPL competition and formed Team Quadzilla Soundoff Productions. Since then David has Judged/Promoted and/or assisted judging 5 World finals, numerous multi-point events, and countless single point events.

In late 2002, David joined the team at SPLMAX.com, helping form the SPLMAX soundoff promotions department.
